Vintage Kantha Suzani Rug is a vintage Kantha rug with colorful suzani embroidery all over.

This unique item is upcycled from a vintage Kantha rug. A Kantha rug is made from old cotton fabrics such as saris that are layered and stitched together by hand using the traditional Kantha embroidery technique. This technique is characterized by the many rows of short, continuous stitches – a method that has been used in India for hundreds of years and is particularly common among rural women. The Kantha embroidery technique creatively upcycles old cotton saris that were previously worn by Indian women and gives them new life as upcycled clothing items, rugs or bedspreads. Each Kantha rug is unique in both pattern and color combination.
